How much has Clemens been fined for his headhunting forays? He is the only one who actually siaid that he was going to throw at someone then did it. This has all been brought about because MLB has had a hands off policy on throwing inside and now they have a mess on their hands. I think it would be a good idea if the American League would get rid of the DH. One of the reasons is that it may discourage headhunting.

If anyone is going to take Zimmers age into account it should be the Yankees regarding whether or not the allow him to sit in the dugout. Beyond that, all bets are off.

As far as Bonds' pad goes, when Bonds bats he raises his hands and the elbow pad will be in the vicinity of his head.

Nonetheless, he sayed he would throw at Bonds' armor, which he did and I applaud him. Pedro on the other hand threw at Karim's head. The target was the head. Then after that he threatened to hit Posada in his head. These are Pedro's antics.
He could have dodged Zimmer, which he didn't. He could have stepped away and Zimmer could have gone down crashing. Then Zimm would be the laughing stock. But no, he chose to toss him onto the ground. If you want to defend Pedro, that he should have stood his ground, why didn't he put up his fists and fought him. I bet you would all be applauding him for his actions. But no. Pedro is a wussy. If he had fought him, he could have used the same defense. I was afraid that a 72 year old man would have punched my lights out!

It was Zimmer who was charging Pedro. Pedro deserves some latitude in the method he chose to deal with Zimmer.

Regarding, throwing at Bonds. Bonds is the best player in the game today and one of the best hitters of alltime. If Clemens would have missed inside it could have meant the end to Bonds' career. On the other hand there is Karim Garcia,... who the hell is Karim Garcia? Understand Im saying this as a fan but if Im Garcia and I felt like I was being thrown at I would be angry as well. In fact, I might have taken the bat out there with me and gone upside Pedros head with it. I think most people dont realize how fast/hard 95 mph is. On the same token though, Clemens is by far the most deserving of taking a bat upside the head or knee.

I'll admit that I like the Red Sox and am not a Yankee fan at all, but we really have to cut Pedro some slack with the Zimmer thing. He had a second or two to come to a decision, because if he's anything like me he probably didn't expect Zimmer to rush him and take a swing like that. Pedro probably just expected to trade some words with Zimmer, but Zimmer went psycho and Pedro had to defend himself so he could still pitch in the game. I don't care if Zimmer was 80, 90 or whatever, a punch is a punch, especially when you have to pitch the next inning, rather than just sit on the bench.
