    Yankees vs Redsox Thread

Someone was gonna post this eventually so why not me. Mussina, Clemons, Pettite, Wells, they are just too much for the Sox to handle. Also the Yankees have just hit their stride and will win. I think the difference maker for the Yankees in this sereis will be the play of Bernie williams at the bat. He was incredible with runners in scoring position and could lead the yanks in this series.

Side note: does anyone know how bad Damon was hurt. I am a diehard Yankee fan but still never like to see someone get hurt.

Let's get it on! Beat the Yankees! Damon appears to be alright, he had a concussion and is spending the night in the hospital.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the Yanks will beat the Sox b/c the Yanks are a better team and will be rested. Pedro obviously can't pitch game 1... will prob pitch game 3 and game 7 if it even goes that long. all the Yanks pitchers are rested and ready to go. BUT, I want the Sox to win

                Re: Yankees vs Redsox Thread

I'd say if it was another best of 5 sereis the red sox could pull it out but they just dont have the ability to beat the yankees 4 times in 7 games. I think Pedro will start game three like you said but as they face elimination in game six. They might be pressured to rush him back in as the starter which will hurt them in the end. The only hope for the Sox is if they hit the yanks hard and hit em fast. The Sox need desperately for the Yankees to develop a little bit of rust in the little off time they had. It is a very big if and a longshot for the sox. They just dont have the pitching to comtend with the Yankees. They could get away with it if the yankees didnt have such great pitching every game of the week. They must hope that the yankees bullpen falls apart. This will not happen and the Red Sox will not win.

I am sorry to say that the curse will continue...wait a sec..I am damn glad to say the curse will continue.

This should be a great series and the Sox have a definite chance to win. The sox bullpen has come along way and I think you could say the Yanks bullpen is a wildcard. It pains me to say that the Yanks have a good starting rotation but it certainly isn't the greatest. The Sox batted .279 as a team versus NY in the regular season with 26 HRs and 106 RBI. Thats not too bad

Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill Simmons
