Re: August 30th is strike date.........
Those Dumb*** greedy f****** bast****. All they care about is the money and that a**hole commisioner stays on his butt counting his money and has the guts to say that Montreal should be gone instead of the team that has never had a winning year, nor a subpar year (tampa). Hope they fix it but luckily I go to the Reds game on the 27th for a double-header against the Cards. Hope we didnt just waste over 500+ million $ on that new ballpark. (guess what, Hamilton County pay's for it, which is the county I live in).<--Like the face says, crazy.

Re: August 30th is strike date.........
I have a job. It's a good job even.
The owner of my company makes a LOT more then I do.
This is because he is the owner.
Baseball players make damn good money.
The owners should make a hell of a lot more money. That is capitolism.
Players don't like it? They should quit their job and becomes owners.
Unions were made and in fact legalized to protect workers like those found in meat packing industries. Unions work well to ensure blue collar types make enough money to live off of.
Baseball players shouldn't even be allowed to unionize.
People that make 300x what I do (and I make a well above average living) are about to go on strike.
Why exactly again?

Re: August 30th is strike date.........
I honestly don't care anymore. I've always loved baseball, and I was miserable during the 1994 strike, which wiped out 2 1/2 months of baseball. In 2002, I really don't care. I find it great that the final day of baseball will be August 30th, because on August 31st, there's a slate full of great college football throughout the weekend!!! In the past 4 years, I have drastically cut down my viewership of baseball, and if they strike, I won't go to another game for a very long time, and I sure as hell won't go to any in 2003. Good riddance.Comment

Re: August 30th is strike date.........
Are you saying you don't enjoy paying 6.50 for a hot dog and 5.00 for a coke? I think its worth every penny.
Seriously though, I haven't gone to a game this year, and I only went to one last year. I can't afford to sit in the sections where I can actually see the game.Comment
