Hanley Ramirez, I thought this was finally the year he not only has the proper leadership but he plays the game like he should. That and the whole month of June, how can a team be that bad for a whole month.

Today was pretty shocking, but I watched none of it sadly after the marlins game due to studying/prior engagements

Re: What shocked you the most this season?

As a Rays fan, I'd have to say what shocked me the most this season was EVERYTHING THAT JUST HAPPENED TONIGHT!! I am still, 5 hours after the fact, trying to soak it all on....think about it...

The Rays down 7-0 going into the bottom of the 8th...a perfectly timed rain delay to allow the Red Sox game to end just 3 minutes before the Rays game...a 6 run 8th inning capped off with a LONGO 3 run shot....A HR in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and a 2-2 count by Dan Johnson, a guy who was batting .108 for the year, and who hadn't hit a HR since April 8th....Papelbon blowing a save against the worst team in the East with 2 outs and no one on, and to the 8th, 9th, and 1st hitters of the Oriole's lineup, and Carl Crawford the Ray traitor dropped the ball that could've saved the Red Sox, couple that with the fact that at the time it was 2 outs and no one on, the Yankees had runners on 1st and 3rd with no one out in the top of the 12th....then moments after the Papelbon blown save and Tampa's incredible escape from runners on corners with no out, LONGO hits a walk-off HR to propel the Rays to an 8-7 win and the wildcard spot...no publisher would ever accept this script for a book because it's so unreal, and yet it happened!

I found out that MLB.TV could be purchased for viewing today for just $3.99, and boy I jumped on that because I thought it was going to be a great finish to the year. I had the Rays game on my ps3 playing on a 42" plasma TV, and I had the Red Sox game going on my laptop (17.5" HD screen) and had it sitting up close by the TV, and watched them both live from inning 2 on (tuned in just in time to see Teixeira's grand slam to give Yankees 5-0 lead). It was by far the greatest sports experience I've ever had. Thank God for technology!!!

Tampa's last game was unbelievable but I will most remember the Braves dismal collapse. Unreal.

And by the way, as amazing as last night was, last Friday night was unbelievable in its own right. That was the night with all the clinchings, the Braun HR, the Diamondbacks finish and pool jump, etc.

We've been blessed with unbelievably memorable baseball.

A couple Blue Jays surprises so indulge me here:

                1. Kyle Drabek being such a dud this year. I'm really hoping he can turn it around and become something good next year.

                2. Erick Thames being such a good presence in the lineup and clubhouse. He's performed very well and I can see a day when he and Lawrie are batting back to back in the lineup producing runs.

                3. Henderson Alvarez, don't look at the W-L record but rather look at the other numbers and you'll see that this kid performed very well out of the blue, depending on if the Jays get a starter or two next season Alvarez could be fighting for the #3 starter role next season.

The Rays making the postseason after losing Carl Crawford, Carlos Pena, Matt Garza and their entire bullpen. Not to mention the whole Manny Ramirez debacle, Longoria missing the entire month of April and the fact that they started out at 0-6. Just unbelievable.

And also Carl Crawford's complete and total suckitude in Boston this year.

                      The Rays obviously.

                      Ellsbury hitting 30 homers

Avila going from .220 to .300 and a .900 OPS

                      Peralta hitting .300

                      Carl Crawford being horrible

Al Albuerque going from nobody to striking out 15 per 9 innings

Pirates playing so well until July

Thought the Reds would be better

Max Scherzer regressing big time in the 2nd half

                      Kimbrel saving 47 games

ADAM DUNN HAHAH I thought he was a lock for 40 homeruns.

                      Asdrubal Cabrera's first half

That's one thing you can count on.

As a Reds fan, Cincy's inability to escape from mediocrity. Nothing worked this year.

The Rays coming back from 7-0 late in the game against the Yankees to win the wild card after Boston blew their lead away.

But really the answer for me is this.

The Braves blowing an 8.5 game lead in 23 days by:
-Being swept 3 times (including the final series at home)
-Going 7-7 against .500 or worse teams during that stretch
-Losing their final 5 games when winning just 1 would have resulted in a 1 game playoff, and winning 2 of those 5 (an astounding 40% winning percentage!) would have locked up the wild card for them.
-Going 9-18 in the month of September while 15 of those games were against .500 or worse competition.
