You shut your mouth about the last one But really, if the Rangers can't resign CJ, they'll either sign Yu Darvish or Fielder. They're going to make some kind of splash this offseason.

Edit - I doubt CJ would ever go to Boston or NY. He's said he enjoys the heat, and he has his racing place in Texas. I see him signing with Texas for 5/85.

No way, they do have enough hitting. That rotation needs upgrades

I do not think the Red Sox should go after even more hitting. But the Cubs, that's a different story. I say we go after Prince or C.J. Wilson. Or both!

We don't know the whole story. I doubt it went like "you have cancer? Well, that's a deal breaker, peace!" I doubt anyone would want their spouse to stay out of pity.

Might as well just sign Fielder and Jose Reyes and then we can all have another laugh when the pitching staff puts up a 6+ ERA for the final month of the season.

No. They have to work on getting consistent pitching before they go spending 100M+ on someone who is not a position of need.

Red Sox need to sign Fielder and trade Adrian back to the westcoast to Anaheim.Adrian does not have the personality to play in Boston.

Wha? Looks to me like Gonzalez had a pretty good season last year.

as to the question: no, Boston has more pressing matters like fending off the sharks in the media that are biting the team all over the place this offseason.

Yeah, .338, 27 hr, 117 rbi, just get rid of the guy...

Seriosuly the guy was 2nd in the AL in avg, 3rd in OBS, and tied for the league lead in hits while playing Gold Glove defense. Why in the world would anyone want to trade him? You can't even blame the collapse on him. He hit .318 with 4 hr and 14 rbi in September.

The Sox really don't need Prince and honestly i don't think Boston would be on the top of the list of Fielder's possible destinations. Money aside, why at this point would Fielder want to go to a place where the media is going to rip to shreds anything they can?. Not to say that the team did not bring this on themselves but it has been a brutal offseason already. Fielder can still get a buttload of money somewhere and stay out of the media hell that is Boston right now.

Getting rid of Lackey and/or DiceK, getting pitching help, and getting a RF all are way higher on the list than Prince Fielder.
