I'm actually happy that the Marlins won.
I'm not a die hard Marlins fan or anything, but I've been watching this team pretty closely since opening day because their lineup and pitching rotation really impressed me(on paper).
They have excellent speed on the top of the order, power in the middle, and just solid hitters towards the end. And rotation is quite underrated in my opinion, alot of young, strong arms that all have a good shot at success in baseball.
I was really surprised when they started the season with such a poor record, I thought they would be a surprise team to contend for the NL East. Then when the problems with pitching injuries and such, it seemed like coaching was the problem. Sure enough. Torborg out, McKeon in, and this team looks like one of the most fundamentally sound team in baseball...something they should have been from the start.
Anyways, none of what's happened with the Marlins has surprised me. I'm not going to say they're going to win the World Series, but for all of you saying that it is going to be a snoozefest, don't be so sure. If they play anything like they have this postseason, it should be one of the better World Series' to watch. They seem to find a way to make almost every game entertaining and close, it's like you can never count them out.
You know Bud ain't happy though, Marlins don't get ratings when it comes to casual fans, lol.
At any rate, I'm happy for the Marlins. They played hard and EARNED the NL Pennant. I'm rooting for them to win it all...and hopefully defend the title better than our most recent champs.
As for the Cubs, they'll be back. With that rotation and that lineup, there's no doubt about it. Just hopefully that curse won't be back with them.
