Forget about going Al Capone on Bartman. How about Alex Gonzalez? Are you kidding me? You have to make that play. And not for nothin', but no one, and I mean no one, can guarantee that Alou would have caught that ball. How many times do we see outfielders drop balls that they leap for. Maybe Alou would have hit the wall just hard enough to jar the ball loose. Leave the guy alone. He messed up, but the Cubs and Dusty messed up ten-fold. So stop your

      Agreed

Alex Gonzales is the guy Cubs Fan should be hitting with beers. If he turns a routine double play we’re not having this discussion. Gonzales was the guy who booted the ground ball. So this isn’t about the fan, or the curse. It’s about the Cubs being 5 outs from a World Series berth and simply imploding. It’s unfortunate that 95 years of pent up frustration is being piled on a 26 yr old loser who lives with his parents.

I think he should sue the newspaper which posted all the information about him. What they did was completly wrong.

I never had any hatred towards him. Sure, after the play I was pissed, but once they made that error at shortstop right after I knew it wasn't his fault if they lost. And for people who want him hurt or dead I just say this: This is baseball, a kid's game, sure it sucks for the Cubs, but they had other chances to win. It's not worth ruining a man's life over, IMO.
