Re: Frank McCourt Officially Allowed To Shop Dodgers
I would LOVE to have Mark Cuban buy a baseball team. He'd send the old stodgy owners kicking and screaming into the 21st century but unfortunately as long as Bud Selig is in control it'll be a cold day in hell before Cuban acquires an MLB team.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Hmm, could be interesting for those who lost out on the purchase. Perhaps one of them will probably buy the Padres from John Moore$ and/or Jeff Moorad.Comment

I personally think this deal was good for the Dodgers because they got rid of a corrupt owner and got an LA legend to replace McCourt as owner.Check out my Baseball Rumors Blog http://baseballrumors101.blogspot.com/Comment

Yeah Magic Johnson will do a lot to repair the PR mess that has been the Dodgers the last few years. I'm sure he'll be a hands off owner who puts the best people he can find to run the baseball operations.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Hes not really going to be the owner, just a partner, he will be more of a figurehead.Comment

Re: Frank McCourt Officially Allowed To Shop Dodgers
It sounds like the Rangers deal in a way. Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg were the figureheads, and Ray Davis and Bob Simpson were the oil barons. Ryan only owns about a million dollars worth of the club; Charlie Pride owns even more than Ryan if I remember right. Greenberg forgot his place, and now he's out of a job with the Rangers.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks
