I can't wait til next year when the Marlins drop off the table and don't make the playoffs because of what a fluke they are. If this sounds familiar it's probably because it happened last year with the Angels. In my opinion, getting past teams by fluke dropped balls (Giants) and fans interfering (Cubs) is not such a great accomplishment. At this point they are playing really well, but they're like the '98 Yankees, anything and everything goes their way. Let's face it, what are the odds of Wells' back acting up last night in Florida where it should be hot enough to keep it loose forever? I guess "luck" goes both ways, cause in my opinion the Red Sox are a better team than the Yankees, but the Yanks won. I just wouldn't get all hyped like Tim McCarver and Joe Buck and act like the Marlins are the '27 Yankees or some unbeatable force to be reckoned with. If certain Yankees could get a clutch hit just once in their overrated lives, this series would be over and the Yanks would've swept and had their parade today.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Whether you want to admit it or not, if the marlins win the world series, they will be world champions. You would think that eventually all of the flukes arent just flukes, but actual good plays by the marlins ( omg , the marlins actually playing well? no way! they didnt win any of the games, the games were given to them, since the other teams really dont want to win it all. I would count about 200+ flukes since the postseason started, and thats a lot of damn flukes.)

Hell they have been a fluke since they first started chasing the phillies for the wild card. In any case, the last team standing wins, and this is in any sport.

Ok , i am done rambling. Trying to stay away from marlin discussion due to me being a fan of the fish. But i still have to chime in when a team, ANY TEAM, isnt not given any kind of respect as to the way they are winning.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

just some bitter yankee fan that cant seem to see that the yanks dont just show up and have the series given to them on a silver platter. they actually have to earn this one against a team most yankee fans i think took very lightly. just ask the giants, cubs, and even the phillies (who blew the wild card) about how good the marlins are.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

LOL, bitter? I have nothing to be bitter about. We beat the Red Sox and that's all I really care about. Most, if not all, Yankees fans will tell you that the World Series has been a pretty big letdown after the incredible regular and postseason series against the bo sox. I can't wait til next year to face them again and beat em again. Besides, we'll see Saturday who's disappointed, cause I have a feeling the Yanks aren't done. Yankee Stadium is a completely different place to play when the season is on the line, and Beckett seemed awfully cocky at the news conference this afternoon- I don't think he realizes what he's gotten into.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

thats the point. he doesnt know hes not supposed to win. if he stays in that frame of mind the marlins might just be hoisting that trophy in NY tonight. yes i know that bo sox series was great but come on dont give me that cop out answer that thats all you care about. its the yankees for goodness sakes. all you care about is championships. sounds like to me the excuses are all ready flying. oh well at least we beat the bo sox thats all that matters. give me a break.

Um, so I guess the lower ratings are because everyone is so interested in watching the WS huh? Give me a break man, I've been a Yankee fan my whole life. I watched the horrid Yanks of the 80's and early 90's, did you? I had never seen them win a thing til 95 when they won the wild card only to be heartbroken by the M's. Pretty soon our "dynasty" is gonna end, cause we're just not the same team anymore. It'll be back to the 80's where the Yankees suck and then I wonder where the Yankee haters will go to rag on fans. You seem to think REAK Yankees fans like that George buys everyone and his brother, but we don't. It's disgusting to watch baseball go down the tubes, but I'm NOT going to stop rooting for the Yanks just cause they win. I wish we kept our young talent, cause guys like Ted Lilly and Brandon Claussen would've been great Yankees.

Yep, but they're still low. Up from last years but not high enough. Maybe a Cubs/Red Sox series would've helped.
