Re: Predict Where These FAs go

Wow, it's odd how that guy went ahead and made the F/A's that the Padres want that can help their young staff all retire.

I see the Giants going after Shannon Stewert and Possibly Eddie Guardado. I also think they'll resign Aurillia and possibly Worrell since they declined options on Snow and Cruz.

Also, I'd bet the house that Santiago goes to the Padres. The Giants want to give Torrealba a shot at the everyday job.

I wouldn't make that bet if I were you. Santiago didn't leave San Diego on the best terms, and I wouldn't really have called him a fan favorite his last couple years there. The Pads will go after Pudge, Lopez, Ausmus, or Kendal to be their catcher next year.

Plus, I'm pretty sure he might retire, cause he's had so many health problems and he's already said he wants to end his career as a Yankee.

Anyone who thinks that Steinbrenner will let Andy Pettite walk away from the yanks is crazy, especially since Clemens, and Wells are gone....he might get the biggest contract this offseason to assure that he wont leave the yankees..

Assure he doesn't leave? I'm sorry pal, but as sad as it is to say, the guy's got a FAMILY. I think if his wife says "Andy, it'd really be good for you to be in Texas so you can see you're kids grow up", do you think he's gonna say no? He's already won four rings, so that's not a reason to stay. Plus being ON the Yankees, he probably realizes that the team isn't the same as it was earlier in his career. Clemens is retiring, Stottlemyer and Torre are probably gone, and who knows what other changes are gonna be made. As a Yankee fan, I hate to face the facts, but our so-called "dynasty" is pretty much over. I have a feeling that the '80s and early '90s may be once again upon us Yankee fans. George has gone mad buying up all the offense in the world, while our pitching is about to go down the tubes and into the sewer. Mariano might not even be around much longer, cause he said in '00 or '01 that he was gonna move back home and spend his money on a church for his town in Panama. And if Mariano retires, the Yankees will ultimately become just an ordinary team with and ordinary closer.
