Babe Ruth painting – need your advice!

    Hi Guys!

I’m kinda new to this board (registered today but following daily) and haven't opened a thread yet. I was hoping you could help me make a decision on my next purchase. I’m a HUGE Babe Ruth fan, he is my favorite player of all time, and have many collectibles including some hard to find items.

Yesterday I was on eBay just looking around and I stumbled across an amazing painting (at least that’s what I think, I’m not an art aficionado). I have some giclees, prints, photos and posters but not a painting, I actually had never seen one before and thought this will be a great addition to my collection. The seller seems to have great feedback and the price also includes mounting services and free shipping.

I really like to see what you all have to say about this art piece and whether you think it’s a good deal. The seller seems legit and actually a very nice person. I tried bargaining for a discount but unfortunately he couldn't lower the price any further. He told me those are usually selling for around $250 - $300 (which is true I checked the seller feedback) can he fake this?

The auction will end on Sunday but still no bids. Do you think I should wait for the last minute or place my bid now? Also do you think the painting worth the price? I love it but I really looking to see what you guys think.

    eBay item#270870508420

    Thanks for the help!

Not all that much feedback and in the description it says:

ToPortraits-Studio was founded in 2001 in Xiamen, China, as a small art studio.

Also, this is being shipped from the UK. So, it appears to me, and I am by no means an expert, that you are getting a painting that someone did from a card or picture, etc.

    Tough call.
