Gammons on Dan Patrick Show - possible trade

I was listening to Dan Patrick's radio show and Peter Gammons mentioned a possible trade between the Yankees and Expos that would send Alfonso Soriano, Nick Johnson, and a young pitcher or two to Montreal for Javier Vazquez and Jose Vidro. He then went on to say that the Yankees would then try to sign Vladimir Guerrero.

I don't know if I like this trade for the Expos, except for the fact that it trims payroll. Vidro will make $7mil in the last year of a 4-year contract, while Soriano made $800K this year; Vazquez made $6mil last year, while Johnson made $365K last year.

After the best postseason of all time, this offseason looks like VERY interesting as well. It should be exciting to see how everything unfolds this offseason.

i tried to tell peeps that alfonso might be traded away and yes i heard this and quite shocked of what they would be given up.

On PTI he also mentioned a Soriano for Beltran trade.

I just heard the exact same thing from Gammons on PTI! Bernie would come in and DH. I would love it. Boone would stay at third, Vidro at second, Vlad in right of cours. if you leave Matsui in right, you still need a center feilder. Mike Camron would be a dream but I dont know if the yanks are interested. Pettite is still the number one priority. him mussina and Vazquez with Contreras and Leiber is a damn good starting rotation. In have no Idea what to do with that mess of a bullpen. We have a good minor league guy and Karsay will be back but the Yanks need something else there.

On the Sporting News Radio here in Chicago they had Sorinano and a prospect/pitcher going to the White Soxs for Magglio Ordonez.

Being a White Soxs fan I hope that it DOESN'T happen.

We got enough guys here who swing for the fences.

Take him...I don't know about other M's fans but he is overrated. Yeah his defense is very good but he can't hit worth anything. He has a streak every year where he goes on a tear for about a week or two and then is dead the rest of the year. I'd much rather let him go and try and get a better hitting centerfielder or possibly move either Ichiro or Winn to center. I think Winn played center in Tampa but not sure. Just my two cents....
