Take him...I don't know about other M's fans but he is overrated. Yeah his defense is very good but he can't hit worth anything. He has a streak every year where he goes on a tear for about a week or two and then is dead the rest of the year. I'd much rather let him go and try and get a better hitting centerfielder or possibly move either Ichiro or Winn to center. I think Winn played center in Tampa but not sure. Just my two cents....

Hello people, Peter Gammons is the same guy who said "It's not a matter of if the Cubs get Mike Lowell, but when." I have no faith in him because he's just reporting what ideas have been tossed around by management. Most of his reports have little validity because the other team usually wasn't even contacted.

I agree. He is garbage. He can't hit at all, and hes getting older. Yes he has good range, but his arm is average, and he has regressed the last few years.

Although you may be right in some cases, but with the Lowell situation, it was widely known that he was going to be moved until the deadline approached and the Marlins were still in contention. The Marlins had to actually announce that they would not move Lowell so take it for what it's worth.

The trade in the first post is rather interesting. I don't know if i'd make that move if I were the Expos. I know that Frank Robinson would be going ballistic everytime Soriano strikes out on pitches he should be swinging on

I think it's a bit TOO much talent the 'spos would be giving up for guys that have the potential but could easily just fizzle out. Also where the heck are the Yankees gonna come up with "two young pitchers" when their minor league system must be pretty drained by now.

The Expos have to balance out being cheap and being good so that a potential owner would buy them and see some success early on.
