    Foreign Talent in MLB

Another great MLB season, but just a few thoughts on foreign talent.
Do you think theres too many non US born players in the majors.
Maybe there should be a limit to the amount allowed to a roster.
I personally think the the product would suffer without foreign talent, imagine no Pujhols, Vlad, Ichiro, you could go on forever.
The problem i see is not enough home grown talent being given a chance at the majors.
this problem is also in the NBA, and NHL.
Owners these days will now look overseas, rather than there farm systems.
For every Ichiro, theres a Shinjo, Surely thers a better outfielder in tripple A better than Shinjo waiting for his chance but wont get it because its fashionable to look overseas.
Take the Marlins line up for the World Series i think only Juan Pierre and Jeff Connine were born in the USA.
I am not American but think its only natural to root for your fellow countryman.
I just think that this needs to be looked at, but not at the expense of the overall product.
One last thought who would win a best of 7 series between USA Allstars & World Allstars.
    My opinion USA just.

    Re: Foreign Talent in MLB

I'd rather see a league that has the best talent from around the world rather than the best talent from New Mexico.

          1. Most fans just want to see the best players. I mean, I have like 5 favorite players and only 2 are from here. There will always be plenty of U.S. talent, don't worry about that. If there was a world cup-like thing right now in baseball, the U.S. would definitely be one of the top 3 teams, if not the best.

          2. If they put a limit on foreign players, they would look so racist and discriminating, they might as well make Trent Lott the comissioner.

Yeah good point about the limits, guess things have just changed.
I think the talent is much better now than say 10 years ago.
Opens the debate how would the old stars would perform now.
                Barry Bonds greatest player ever?
