    A-Rod, Manny, and Nomar

Lots of rumors of a trade of A-Rod to Boston in exchange for Nomar. Not even thinking of where Manny stands in all this would the sox even consider such a thing? I hope not, first because Nomar is god in my eyes and second why take on A-Rod's gigantic salary when Nomar ($11.5M next year) would be most likely cheaper than taking the fat Texas contract.

I truly hope they don't deal away Nomar. Ofcourse I have a feeling he is looking to get out of Boston when his contract does expire.

Here is an article on the trade rumors from the Star-Telegram

Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill Simmons

Whoever is making up these rumours must be smoking a lot of crack. Really the BoSox would have to be insane to even do that trade for 2 reasons:

    1) Nomar is the heart and soul of the Red Sox
    2) If you take on A-Rod's contract how the heck do you expect to improve on starting pitching and relief? with magic beans? They won't have enough in the budget for all that.

Texas won't accept the trade anyways. Why give up the best SS for one of the better ones? Why accept more offense when you need pitching. On Boston's case, I would have done it, because I expect Nomar to go to Cali next winter. It's no secret that he wants to play out west in California, and Anaheim will be bidding for him. Obviously Nomar is the BoSox, so it's will be very tough giving him up.

According to what I read today, Nomar wasn't going to Texas. It was a 3 team deal with an undisclosed West Coast team, probably LA or Anaheim, and Texas would get Fossum and some pitching from the West Coast team, and Nomar would go to that team. But since they're stuck with Manny, it probably won't happen.
