I disagree. They should be 3rd. The Angels' 4th starter could be an ace on an average team while the Giants' 4th starter wouldn't even be an ace on a terrible team. But, I respect your opinion.

Santana would be an ace on a very, very, very bad team. Very, very, very bad.

I'd say the rankings are about right. As for Santana, I think he's got the makings of a very good pitcher but he's never quite put it all together. I think with a fresher set of eyes looking at him he'd probably have an uptick on his performance.

Andrew Oliver is not the Tigers #5 starter -- Drew Smyly is.

lol at Bleacher Report thinking that Darvish will be the Rangers' ace. I voted for the Rays. Their rotation is just sick.

Wade Davis is actually the Rays' fifth starter. Having Niemann as your "sixth man" is pretty fantastic.

There are a handful of teams with a better top end of the rotation than the Rays (Phillies, Angels, Giants, Brewers) but going 1-5 (in the Rays' case, 1-6) no other staff has them beat as of right now. Seriously, I cannot think of any team that has a better sixth starter than Davis/Niemann.

Oh well, our offense still sucks!

Pretty sure Niemann beat out Davis for the fifth spot in the rotation

Yeah, I saw that but I don't know how long it will last or if he will mix and match those two.

Maddon has been known to go with a six man rotation at times, especially late in the season, as well.

Santana is capable of beating any team on any day. He's better than a lot of aces out there right now. I am not sure there's a #4 starter in the league better than him.

I am not sold on the Phillies being #1 either. But don't have a huge issue with them being #1. I love the Tigers rotation, but fear their defense might hurt the overall numbers of a couple of their guys who live by pitching to contact.

If the two young guys pitch to anywhere near their potential, I LOVE the Rays rotation. I think they potentially are as good as any rotation out there.

Can't argue with the Giants top 3 guys, I am not a Vogelsong fan, and Zito, you just never know what you will get.

If the Angels do somehow add Oswalt as their fifth starter, which has been the most recent rumor, I'd put them against anyone as well.

I really wish the Angels would find away to acquire Wade Davis from the Rays to be their 5th starter. I know that's been floated around here a few times, but not sure I see DiPoto making a move there.

Send us an everyday shortstop and a prospect or two and he's yours.

Yeah I doubt DiPoto gives up Erick Aybar just yet, as I think Jean Segura is still a little ways away from being ready for prime time. Plus historically the Angels just don't part with prospects.

There were some rumors earlier that they were talking about packaging Trumbo in a deal to the Rays, but they seemed to have backed off that type of thinking.

I never said he couldn't beat any team on any day nor did I say that he isn't a good #4 starter, but he is not an ace on any team but a horrid pitching staff.

For one, he gets bailed out by the Angels defense and his stats even with said defense aren't THAT great. Solid/Average #2, good #3, great #4 starter. Not an ace.
