Hitter - Cabrera. Best hitter in the game! He's 28 now but still improving every year.

If we are going like young, more unproven, build around for 10-15 years:

Matt Moore - I don't know what to say. He's the top prospect for a reason, great stuff, great composure.

Hitter - Mike Stanton. To be so young but to already be such a proven power hitter is scary! Future superstar. He's 22 I think? Man.
    Who is Mike Stanton?

      Hmmm..

Pitcher I would probably start with Matt Cain. Love his game. Saw him pitch the other day vs. the Bucs and he was as dominant as any pitcher I've seen in a long time.

Hitter is tougher for me, so many great hitters. I might go the Joe Mauer route. Guys that can hit like that and play Catcher are a true rarity these days.

Homer Pick: Mike Trout. Hasn't done anything at the major league level yet. But he's turned 20 years old. A fantastic athlete. Will be a GG caliber defender, can run and can hit. Well theoretically. WE all know what potential means. It's nothing until you prove it.

If I couldn't have Cain, I would go the Kershaw or Felix Hernandez route. Kershaw is 24 and a left handed power pitcher who's figured out how to not walk guys. And Hernandez is well, we all know what Hernandez is these days.

I love Moore for Tampa, but I want to see more of him..

I absolutely love McCutcheon's game. Fabulous player. He'd be tough to pass up as well.

I think I'm going to go with the Dodger combo of Kershaw and Kemp. My other pitching choices would be Hernandez, Moore, Lincecum (why has nobody mentioned him?), or Stratsburg. Verlander is good but too old. My other hitters would be Fielder, Cabera, Battista, McCutcheon or Cano.

Since everyone else is taking Kershaw, I'll go a different route and take Ian Kennedy. I know he doesn't have longevity, but his age is a plus and he seems like a gamer, a guy that can grind through when he doesn't have his best stuff. I like that quality.

At the dish, Matt Kemp is the guy for me. He hits for average, power and still has the speed to play a quality CF, so you know he can swipe a bag when you need it. Carlos Gonzalez and Tulo are two guys I get to see a lot in person, but I think Kemp is slightly better overall than both guys.

                Hitter: Mike Stanton most likely
Pitcher: i'm going to be a total homer and say Henderson Alvarez. I see something VERY special in that kid and he's only 21. Mark my words we'll all be talking about him the way we talked about Roy Halladay in Toronto in the not so distant future.

Pitcher: Clayton Kershaw. A no brainer in my opinion. He's young, left handed and his pitches are filthy. Plus he already has a Cy Young Award to show off. If I were to build a team and a pitching staff around anyone, it'd be Kershaw.

Hitter: Definitely a homer pick, Starlin Castro. Still needs some time to develop, but he's still good as of right now. Love his speed and his bat, just wish he could improve that defense..

Hitter: I have to take my boy Tulo. Best SS in the league (admittedly, since he is my favorite player, I may be a tad biased..)

Pitcher: Too many good ones to choose from... I'll take Verlander I guess... even though he is a Tiger.

I find it very hard to pick against Kemp/Kershaw. Personally I really like Verlander, and I am anxious to see what Bryce Harper will do.

ATM, I would have to go w/ Kemp/Kershaw; as much as it pains me to say that.

Hmm, it really depends. As of right now, my pitcher I'm going with a homer pick right here with Stephen Strasburg. As for position player, I'd take Troy Tulowitzki. Matt Kemp is a very good pick because of what he brings, but even decent shortstops are harder to come by, at least there are centerfielders like Cameron Maybin, Andrew McCutchen, etc.

Pitcher: Justin Verlander (I'd have no problem taking Strausberg too)

Hitter: Miguel Cabrera (Not only is he a great hitter, he's showing some fielding skill at 3rd)

Kershaw as my pitcher because he is a dominant lefty and will be for years to come. Justin Upton for my Hitter, he's young fast and can hit for power
