    Submarine Pitchers

Is there a list of submarine pitchers that are currently pitching? Either active in the majors or fairly close to the majors? Or maybe some recent free agents? Thanks in advance!

I believe Peter Moylan(Atlanta) may be one. He's certainly sidearm.

Darren O'Day Pat Neshek and Joe Smith are the only three that come to mind.

Patterson is a sidearmer and Zeigler is a submariner, both on the dbacks.

I thought Cla ("The Claw") Meredith was still kicking it "submarine style" somewhere, but it appears that he's been FA for a couple years now:

Looking at Dillard's vid on MLB.com...he's clearly more sidearm. Looking at these other guys....they all look sidearm delivery. Submariners can almost scrape their knuckles on the ground. Ziegler looks like he goes a few degrees under sidearm. Meredith looks sidearm as well. Was trying to find some vid on Tekulve, but it's tough.

That's the thing with most submariners, you either continue to be effective by having command of your sinker and slider down in the zone, or you end up being batting practice fodder and out of a job.

Still, the Claw gave us a couple of good years before becoming ineffective.

Alright, well than the last guy that pitched like that that I can remember was Chad Bradford.

This is a video of Shunsuke Watanabe. Dude has a crazy low release point.
