For Jay Gibbons, this might be the star player that O's need." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Re: posted this in the wrong post.. (re Piazza)
I don't think Gibbons would be part of the trade, the Orioles have tried to get Piazza a few times over the years but the Mets were never serious about trading him, but i think they are now,
it would be a good aquisition for Baltimore, Piazza would Catch Gibbons would move to 1B and David Segui would be moved to the DH role, and the deal does not add too much payroll so they can still pursue other players, they need a 3B (Mike Lowell, Joe Randa if they get desperate Vinny Castilla) an Outfielder or two (Raul Ibanez, Jose Cruz Jr. Reggie Sanders they would love Vlad Guerrero but don't think it will happen, more likely would be a return of Jeff Conine) and a starting pitcher (Sidney Ponson, Eric Milton, the Twins say they'll listen to offers),
of course it's all speculation, but don't you love this time of year.Comment
