Do these people questioning Matsui's eligibility even know who Jackie Robinson was?

There needs to be a clear cut rule of what a rookie is. Either Matsui is a rookie, or he isn't. Same with other Japanese players. It shouldn't be up to the individual voter to decide.

Why so much hate on Matsui? Because hes a Yankee?

Ichiro got so much love. ROY. MVP.

                Wow..double standard?

Please, Ichiro had an INCREDIBLE season when he won the ROY and MVP. Matsui had a strong first season, not incredible-- big difference. Matsui's strongest stat line is his RBI's, which aren't hard to get when you hit behind Jeter/Giambi/Williams. Look, the guy had a good first season, but so did Posednik, Baldelli and Gerut. I can understand leaving Matsui off the team. He obviously could have been a productive MLB player for many years now, while the other guys could not until this season. That's the mark of a rookie.

I know Ichiro tore it up.

I live in Seattle. (Well, technically, about 30 mins south of)

And I know Matsui didn't deserve MVP, but he got left off the tops All - Rookie team? And those two writers said they "Didn't vote for him at all for ROY because he played profesional baseball in Japan".
