No Bonds in video games?
I just saw on SportsCenter that Barry Bonds will not allow his likeness to be sold with the MLBPA license. The most recent example of this that they cited was Lavar Arrington, and if you play NFL games you know that they do not contain his likeness. They did say that Barry will pursue individual licenses, so I guess there's a chance he could be in next year's games.Tags: None -
Re: No Bonds in video games?
Dang, I hope not.
Do you know how different In The Zone '98 made Michael Jordan when he wasn't a part of the NBA Players Association? He was named Roster Guard, and he was WHITE. I hope that they don't make Bonds any different except for his player name. I hope they get his face, number, stance, etc. -

Re: No Bonds in video games?
Wow. This is surprising. I wonder why Barry chose to do this?
As for individual licensing.... I have a feeling that MLBPA isn't going to allow video game companies to use the individual licensing along with their licensing. MLBPA could easily tell video game companies "it's either our license or the individual's. Not both". Obviously the MLBPA would win that.
Anyhow, anyone wanna bet on the number of posts that showup saying "This game sucks because it doesn't even have Barry Bond's real name on it. These developers got lazy!". Those posts frustrate me the most because we go through this every year. If player A isn't a member of MLBPA, they won't be in any game.Comment

Yeah, I hope they only just have a different name for him. I would not like to have to make several changes on his video game counterpart.Comment

Re: No Bonds in video games?
well, honestly, how can we expect him to make a decent living on only 18 million a year? he had to do this or the extra cash....imagine if he had to buy his own meals
if anyone is still out there in doubt as to whether or not Bonds is a complete dick, your argument just diedComment
