Re: MLB sued for blackout policy
I seriously doubt it, but the practice really irritated me when I had the mlb.tv and Extra Innings packages. We do not get the Phillies TV carrier here on any of our TV offerings, so even though we are claimed by the Phillies as a home market, I can't watch any game that they are a part of that isn't a national broadcast or against the Orioles, Nationals, or Pirates.NFL: Green Bay Packers
MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
NBA: Denver Nuggets
NHL: Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins
NCAA: Air Force Falcons, Penn State Nittany Lions -

Re: MLB sued for blackout policy
NHL does similar thing.
On sportsnet, there's different regional channels, yet even though you might have paid for a channel, doesn't mean you'll get games on it.
EX-For Leaf fans, they'll be able to watch sportsnet ontario Leaf games, but Sens games are blacked out(though why would a Leaf fan wanna do that lol). Same goes with all other games. If you don't live in(or near) the city playing, you won't get to see their game, despite having the channel that the game is on.
That only applies for sportsnet regional games though. If it's on another channel(like CBC for hockey night in canada), everyone can watch it.Comment

Re: MLB sued for blackout policy
I hope this suit somehow works. I'm not hurt that badly by blackouts with the Orioles (PIT/PHI/NYY). If they ever play the Phillies or Pirates I can just watch on CSN or Root, but the Yankees games being blacked out sucks.Comment

Re: MLB sued for blackout policy
Even if the fans win the initial challenge in the lower courts it will go up the review process and the current Supreme Court will hold the antitrust exemption as valid simply on staire decisus.Originally posted by theenginePlus, there are lots of illiterate Pro Bowlers.
