    Dan Uggla

Was Uggla on any of the Marlins World Series team? I have never been too high on this guy to be honest for the Braves. I personally think he is Fredi pet. He can play the game, but not a game changer.

It is very cool to average 30HRs a season, but are they with RISP or solo shots. We have for three or four years still waiting him to show us something when it matters..

Dude, do you even know what year it is? He's been in the league since 06, so not on any Marlins championship teams. Also, he's been on the Braves for 1 and a half seasons. Where do you get this 3 or 4 years?

Yeah dude to you. Did we not sign him to 4 or 6 year deal? That's where I got that from. So he is overrated in my opinion, but then again I not aware of many people knocking down the Marlins door to get him.

Front shoulder opens. The guy won't commit to opposite field, and submits to his own weaknesses too much.

He's invisible on the Braves' radar to me, at least when it comes to expecting him to deliver for the team. On the plus side, he can play the field and he can play every day. He is good for 30 HR, though you might not want to expect it out of him.

I agree totally with all you said Blzer about Uggla. Maybe he will prove us wrong. We have him for long term deal. Fingers are crossed...

Fredi pet? Is just like a teacher's pet or you might say Fredi's boy. It was package deal for the both of them. Don't get me wrong I like Fredi, but he is loyal to a fault. He waited to long to rest this guy this year. When the Braves had that stretch of 20 games straight, he rested everyone except Uggla. Uggla was struggling then, this current hit less, non run producing streak could have been avoided. IMO

Take it easy on the irrelevant parts, guys.

Focus on Uggla. If not, the thread gets locked.

                  Re: Dan Uggla

Dan Uggla isn't the best 2B in the game, but I love the way he plays. He walks a lot, hits for power, and he's better with the glove than he gets credit for. That's all good, but the man hustles, plays everyday, and doesn't shy away from criticism. I've become a big fan...

FWIW, and I may be crazy, but I'd take him over Brandon Phillips anyway of the week.

                    Re: Dan Uggla

I don't think Uggla really has to prove 'us' wrong.

He's starting to decline, like most guys on the wrong side of 30, but the Braves are getting what they paid for with Uggla, more or less. His hitting stats are a little off right now, but I'm sure he'll get hot for a while and things will probably even out.

There aren't many 2B that can hit, I'd like to hear who would be your replacement for him.

I've always been a huge Uggla fan, he plays the game hard despite having a reputation for being a below average defender.

Was a good hitter in Miami, has shown that in Atlanta as well but seems to have started slow both years.

Uggla's not my favorite player in the world, mainly because he's so hot and cold and frankly it's infuriating, but the man has done as well as can be expected as a Brave.

How much longer do we have Uggla for?

Suddenly, I'm hoping he doesn't return to the team next year if we get this same version of him. He still gets on base, but hot damn he needs to start hitting.
