The stats certainly don't bear out Erod's argument I just went and looked at both NL and AL MVPs in the last 10 yrs. Only 2 times have the award gone to guys from Northeast teams. (Barry Larkin and Mo Vaugn in '95)

I was in the middle of posting and got called down the hall. Didn't see the thread.

But the northeast influence is real. Derek Jeter ain't that special, but he plays in New York, so he is.

With ARod headed that way, the media will cottle him in every way until he gets there.

Actually after re-reading that above paragraph, I really didn't provide any factual evidence about you being right or wrong, but I REALLY don't believe there's any conspiracy here. Like was mentioned before, there's never been a case of ANY award going to a player because of where he plays or where he's rumored to be going to play. If that's the case, why didn't Matsui win ROY?
