Tom Gordon as the Phils' setup man would be very good. i hope they can pull it off.


and i see Joe Mauer already gonna make it to the pros. GOOD FOR HIM. i would have hated seeing him go back to FSU and waste getting his butt kicked by my 'Canes

That would be a great move on the Phillies part. While I'm not in love with Gordon as much as everyone else seems to be (for injury reasons), I think putting him in the 8th inning would be great. Having a Cormier/Gordon 8th inning and a Wagner 9th inning would mean that the game would be over by the 7th inning on most nights.

Alright, lets relax for a minute. Cormier has had exactly ONE tremendous season. Prior to this, he has been a good, but run of the mill lefty specialist. And Gordon hasn't been healthy since about '97. This isn't exactly Mariano/Wetteland we're talking about...
