The AL East next year is going to be the best division. All teams are going to improve, heck even the Tampa Bay.

lets hope so, it gets old watching the AL East become a 2 team race by mid-May every year

and i like this trade for both teams, Lilly gives Toronjto another quality starter and the A's need the bat

            Re: And Another Trade....

It's odd, in the Hentgen thread I mentioned that the Jays have a good pitcher who will help the club and all we need to do is get another good starter. Lo and behold JP Ricciardi pulls this off.

On one hand i'm really excited about this trade because Ricciardi had been trying to get Lilly since the deadline last season and I think he will do well in Toronto. The other side of me is really curious. Delgado has started to see a decline in his durability at 1B and Kielty was acquired to be a stopgap guy for Delgado while at the same time being a regular in the OF.

I'm guessing that Ricciardi probably has a signing or another trade up his sleeve as we need an OF. I guess we're gonna let one of our farmhands have a shot this year or that could be the signing/trade in the works.

BTW I think Oakland got the worse of that trade. Kielty has a high OBP but his avg is just atrocious. There were times when he had runners on base and he just couldn't cash them in. I'm guessing the A's will use him at Leadoff with his OBP being so high.
