Re: NL East, who wins it?
I don't see the Nats falling off. I think if they were going to, it would've been a long time ago.
No way I see anyone else taking that division.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: NL East, who wins it?
Nationals have a pretty decent lead on the Braves right now, the two play 6 more games against each other.
Braves go 4-2, then they still need to make up 3 more games I believe to tie with the Nationals.
If the Nationals shut down Strasburg, Braves have a good shot. If they don't, I give the Nationals the lead.7 National Championships

Braves, Since The Nats will be making the worst decision in the history of the franchise. Shutting Down Strasburg, IMO They shouldn't i don't think they'll be this good in the next 5 or so years. A Strasburg/Harper Combo will only take you so far. So. So. Far.Comment

Don't get me wrong though, the Nats are playing strong ball right now, but I don't think they will hold it through the end of September. And the Braves won't settle for a collapse like last year.Comment

Re: NL East, who wins it?
I've been waiting all season for the Nats to start struggling and it hasn't happened yet, so I don't really expect them to now. I just hope the Braves can beat them good in the head to head matchups and make it interesting.

I have faith that the Braves can catch them. The Nats been hot for a while now. It's gotta die out soon or a later. I mean, we're not into September yet. There's still timeComment

I got Nats all the way even if they shut down Strasburg. They got too much pitching.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnComment

Re: NL East, who wins it?
I thought the Nats would fade off after the all-star break. That hasn't happened, and I don't see it happening at this point.
Shutting down Strasburg helps, but that will only end up being a 3-4 game swing if the Nats lose every start he would have pitched to end the season.Comment

Re: NL East, who wins it?
Nationals.
Even though they are going to shut strasburg down, it doesn't really matter at this point. They still have Gio, Zimmerman and Jackson. Plus, all the momentum is built up in their favor and I just don't see anyone in that lineup cooling down.
While the Braves patched up rotation is impressive, I think they really needed to get that ace caliber arm during the deadline and they didn't.Last edited by royals19; 08-15-2012, 10:42 PM.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

That's what I told myself in 08 about the Rays. And it didn't die out. They kept winning. I think it'll be the same here.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
