    2013 MLB Schedule

MLB schedule was released. Astros move to AL, so teams in the same divisions will play each other 19 times now. There will also be at least 1 interleague game everyday, with all 6 divisions having 5 teams for the first time.

Ugh... I hate being four series in and *BOOM* interleague play. I wish we could just add two teams and get rid of having to play the other league. Not only that, but playing 76 games per year against your division is a bit much, especially since we have to travel two time zones away for three of our opponents.

I just want the balanced schedule back.

Would it really kill MLB to go back to something sensible? I guess it would.

I love it, I am going to try and go to Baltimore in April to see LA.

Yeah crazy stuff. Cubs play in Oakland for the first time ever.

Instead of adding two teams, how about contract two teams!
I still remember the days of talks of contracting were big, with one team I believe was Minnesota. Of course Montreal moved to Washington DC.

              Yep, Minnesota and Montreal.

You know, it's not so bad on the Cardinals part. The only really big difference is that we play Seattle in September.

I, for one, like interleague play and I'm excited to see how the scheduled will turn out in years to come. (I was only 5 years old in 1997, so interleague play is all I know.

And now both teams have new ballparks. MLB was never going to contract; they kept threatening it so that teams could get new or updated gigs. Nationals Park, Target Field, the new Kauffman Stadium, all of them are results of the baseless threats of Baseball to work against their own interests.

Well they had to resort to relocating one team, Montreal, to Washington DC.
                    I miss the Expos

That said, I do believe MLB would never contract, it would be a nightmare to do so when there seems to be no reason to in the first place.

If they add two more teams, that wouldn't work IMO. Some teams have enough trouble fielding a competitive team with 30 teams in the league, just wait until its 32. Ugh.

Baseball isn't going to expand anytime soon. If they were, they would not need to move the Astros right now. BTW, I miss the Expos too. Baseball keeps shooting themselves in the foot with Loria.
