Luis Castillo re-signs with Marlins

    Link

Smart move by the Marlins. This was one of those where you really didn't know where he'd end up, but you knew the Fish would make a good stab for it. In the end, all that really matters is that one of the best FA Second Basemen of this post season is no longer up for grabs. Time to re-calibrate for a couple teams.

hmmm, someone actually rejected coming to NY for more money, imagine that.....guess the lure of losing at Shea wasnt enough to sway him ....good and smart move for the Marlins though

I'm actually glad the Mets didn't sign him. They will lose 100 games with or without him. I'd prefer they keep the money, move Wigginton to 2B, and give David Wright a shot.

i can appreciate that school of thought...however, my thinking is a bit more twisted....i say sign both Kaz & Tejada to round out the IF, which frees up Wigginton to be packaged with say Duncan, Heilman & Griffiths to KC to Beltran ....may or may not get it done, but it should be a good starting point

Well with Castillo signed, and Lowell almost signed for 4 years, that means pudge is gone...and i say good, he wants 5 years $50 Million, come on, hes a 31 year old catcher with injury problems, its smart for the Marlins to let him go its bad for PR....let him go play 70 games for the Cubs or someone who will give him that money...

They should've still kept Lee...The guy is as good as JT Snow who manny compared to Don Mattingly(at least with the glove). Not to mention the fact that he steals bases and has good power.
