Little Matsui's fielding is much more polished than Reyes at this time. My uncle showed me some clips over Thanksgiving of him (since he knew I'm a Mets fan). Also, for late innings, you have more flexibility with Reyes being able to play both 2B and SS. Reyes will also be able to showcase that arm when he tries to complete those double plays where he is running towards left field and having to throw around his momentum.
