Will be interesting to see what Jays get for compensation. I'd want something like the rights to David Ortiz(since he's a free agent), realistically, it'd probably just be some random AAA guy.

Wonder who's on the list of potential coaches for the Jays.

No it will most likely NOT be anyone of Ortiz's calibre most likely a Top 50 Red Sox prospect.

According to Jon Morosi, both teams are getting a player, and the player going from Boston to Toronto is an infielder who played in the majors this year.

Supposedly Adam Lind and more importantly his salary are going back to Boston.

I can't imagine how poorly this is going to go over with Jays fans if Boston contends for a playoffs spot and Lind has a reasonably decent season. Only the Jays would allow their manager to go to another team in the division.

I hope the Jays get a veteran manager, I'm tired of Toronto going on the cheap and getting rookie managers who learn on the job.

"Adam Lind is not part of deal with Toronto, a baseball source said, putting that speculation to rest."

No Lind(I had my fingers crossed for him though).

It sounds like Mike Aviles (SS). Is Escobar on the move or is Aviles going to play 2nd base and Johnson gone? Who is out there that is good manager for the jays?

                      I don't want Ned. Yost.

I hope the Jays unload Escobar and have Aviles play 2B and Adeiny Hacheveria (sp) will play his natural SS position. Late in the season Hech (that's his nickname) looked a lot more comfortable with the bat and I expect him to have a decent season probably hitting in the lower part of the lineup.

As for a manager for the Jays someone made the off the wall suggestion of Paul Molitor who actually asked the Twins for a coaching position for next season but Terry Ryan turned him down. Molitor used to be the hitting coach there (I believe one or two seasons) and has been a roving instructor ever since. I don't know if he'd want a managerial job or if the Jays are even looking at him.

My preferences (in this order) are:

                      Sandy Alomar Jr.
                      Dave Martinez
                      Brian Butterfield
                      Sal Fasano
2 way tie between Jim Tracy and Net Yost

Re: John Farrell New Manager of Boston Red Sox

Sandy Alomar Jr is the leading candidate to be Jays coach.

Of the experienced managers, I'd actually want Jays to get someone like Jim Tracy(currently available),Ron Gardenhire(similar situation as Farrell was with Jays, not given contract extension past 2013, so his rights could also be traded?).

Tracy actually would have been great choice.

Former manager of the year, 4 85+ win seasons(another season with .600+ win% in just under 120 games) and used to be bench coach of the Expos.

There is that Expos connection as AA started his baseball career there as well but I dunno, Tracy experimented with a 4 man pitching rotation in Colorado last year and we saw how THAT worked out. Seeing how the Jays' pitchers were dropping like flies I wouldn't want a manager who would experiment like that.

When you're managing the Rockies, you basically have to experiment cause nothing normal can cause success with them lol.

The Rockies only had 2 good seasons in the franchises career. 1 where they lost in the world series, the other where they lost in the divisions series(only cause of Tracy. If it wasn't for him, they wouldn't have even made the playoffs, he went 77-42 when taking over that year)

Tracy was coach when Carlos Gonzalez first came to the Rockies.
He was also coach during the first 2 season where Jose Bautista got to be a starter.

Tracy was forced by the front office to use the paired system, so its pretty much a Rockies-exclusive thing.
