Good move by both teams, Oakland gets a cheap reliever that has decent talent, and the Yanks get a few kids from the A's Minors, something they needed after having lost alot of their own to trades and such. Not really a huge move though, Nobody on OS said a word when Barrett went to the Cubs, and yet Hammond going to Oakland is a big deal? I'm just saying that the miracle of the Cubs actually getting a decent Catcher came true, and nobody cared, but Hammond gets traded to Oakland and it's worth Mentioning....priorities in order, people.

I'd be weary about making trades with Oakland when you're just getting minor leaguers. Beane has been very good at fleecing teams by giving away some guys in the minors that don't pan out too well. The exception being his trades with JP Ricciardi as they're close friends.

Yeah, the prospects from what I've heard are just average, regular prospects. I read that Stotts could be a good utility infielder by 2005-2006 and that Sierra is your typical class A relief prospect. It's hard to say though. Seems like a fair deal for both teams right now.
