Especially when he had arm fatigue issues coming out of the bullpen. He's bound for Tommy John surgery if he becomes a starter.

Yes, and he would have to drop his velo 9-10 mph and that's alot. His value is mainly in the pen.

I'm curious as to why his velo would drop 10 mph... He averaged 98 mph this year and in his four starts in ST he averaged a little more than 95 mph. He would still have one of the best (probably still the best) fastballs in the league, he can still dial up 100+ at any time.

I'm really surprised at the amount of opposition to making Chapman as a starter. Didn't the fatigue problems stem from him pitching multiple days in a row? Doesn't becoming a starting pitcher alleviate that problem? I honestly believe that him pitching every 5th day and being on an actual routine (relief pitchers don't really have a routine since they have to be available at any time) will be good for him, and he pitched over 100 innings as recently as 2010.

As for the TJ comment, where are the flags in his delivery that suggest elbow problems? IMO Chapman has some of the best mechanics in the game. He maximizes the use of his lower half, has a lightning quick arm that is still able to get out in front, and he loads his scaps without using the inverted W. Like I said earlier in my post, put him on a routine and pitch him every 5th day and the fatigue problem will go away.

Try to find out if anyone is willing to pay Michael Bourn anywhere near what he's asking.

I would say to ask Ruben Amaro Jr. anything you can about the Phillies, but he never discloses a damn thing. Haha.

Confirmed an appointment with Jack Zduriencik for tomorrow right after he is done with MLB Network at 9:30 AM.

BTW---I am taking notes on this thread. Will definitely try as best as I can.

I'm not sure Frank Wren is the guy to ask this, but I'd really love to know about the Braves awful TV deal and how we expect to compete in the coming years considering our TV deal is locked in until like, 2026 or something. Any hopes at re-doing the deal? Any hope of Liberty Media maybe selling the team?

I didn't even know about this. I'll ask around for sure.

I'd be shocked if he didn't get more than he's asking. It seems to be what's happening. Geoff Baker--an excellent writer who covers the Mariners--wrote about how some are saying teams are going to have to invest 20 percent more just to keep up because of the new money.

The only thing against Bourn--Braves and Nationals took care of business.

Yeah. I read a tweet that with the new Dodgers' TV deal, it will take them about 6 or 7 games to make what the Braves current deal gets them in a YEAR.

There is no possible way we don't basically become extinct unless that situation is changed.

Awesome! Can you ask him who he likes more between Miller and Franklin, and also if Romero would be a viable option in LF?

Hey what hotel are you staying at? I was in Nashville last year and got the chance to stay in the Hutton Hotel, really nice hotel and I bumped into Jeff Ross there.
