If you had the Mariners in the Jason Bay sweepstakes, you look like you will be the winner.

I didn't think so... Just was curious if the Brewers plan on doing anything about their rotation.

Pedro Gomez is reporting that the Diamondbacks and Phillies are discussing a possible Cliff Lee for Justin Upton swap with money also going to Arizona.

Edit: Apparently, the two teams ARE NOT discussing this trade.

With the pitching depth we have, I think I have to do this deal.

According to Geoff Baker from the Seattle Times, it is a Major League deal if they finalize.

Gary... Any chance Seattle trades for Upton and sign Bourn to play CF?

Holy crap, Victorino 3/39 million. Giants got a bargain with Pagan 4/40million.

That would be a tall task, I guess the D-Backs are looking strictly for ML/ML ready shortstops that are potential impact players, MLBTR says the Mariners would have to swing a three team deal to land Upton. There are really only three teams with young ML ready impact shortstops and all three want to hang on to them, so I don't see an Upton trade happening with any team unless its a ridiculous overpay.

I do like Bourn though but he's a BorASS client so he'll want more than he's worth.

Well, I think Cleveland officially is dead this season... Might as well sit tight and wait until some team takes Choo off our hands for a bag of baseballs and a 34 year old AA backup catcher.

Any news on Nate McLouth? I heard he's only looking for a one-year deal, and the Cubs need a stopgap CF. Seems like a perfect match.
