The problem is; being a "good guy" does not make you valuable to a team. I've met Michael Young before; I even have his autograph and he's a really nice guy but his time was up two years ago. He can't field, he can barely hit, he's worthless out on the field. It really makes me wonder what the Phillies see in him.

Chipper will clearly be the player most missed by the team's fan base (and deservedly so), but put me firmly in the "clubhouse presence is overrated" camp.
If Atlanta has a poor 2013 season, some will claim that "the Braves missed Chipper's leadership and professionalism". If Atlanta has a stellar season and wins the World Series, some will claim that "Chipper's leadership and professionalism left a lasting mark on his former teammates".
