Guy was a legend. Glad that he was able to make it to his statue unveiling last summer.

          RIP

One of the great managers and personalities of the game. Umpires hated his guts but I get the feeling he was well respected by players and the like. He at least set the stage for guys like Lou Pinella to go ape on the umps

I'm sure he's sitting in heaven managing right now and waiting for the 3 run HR

After watching that video, I don't think he'd be a good fit to manage Heaven's baseball team

And 25 years after he retired from managing he still would be one of the most progressive minds in the game.

I think I might know of someone here that would.

For what he meant to the Orioles, this is a sad loss. Godspeed Mr. Weaver.

Although I was a Cardinals fan growing up, I always felt like I was a little bit Earl Weaver inside. Don't take no sh!t and give it as good as you took it. Sorry to see this news.

People have been using a mixture of fundamental and technical analysis since pretty much the beginning of time. The little discussed secret amongst those who know is that neither provides a surefire way to success, and even with both it's still kind of tricky. Why anyone would waste their time trying argue the case for strictly one or the other is beyond me. It's information, and in analysis you want as much information as you can get.

There are essentially two paths you can travel: you can either continue on in futility trying to defend an indefensible position, or you can pull up a chair at the big boy table. The choice is yours; doesn't make a difference to me either way.

                              Good read:

Wasn't even sure this was still in publication; surprised to see there's even a Kindle version!

                              RIP Earl.
