    Couldnt A-Rod just leave the union?

    if he really wanted to be traded to the red sox, couldnt he just leave the union? then he wouldnt need his restructure to be approved by them right?

    If he leaves the union, he would get none of the benifits from all the various marketing that the league does, also he could not appear in any video games, and would have to negotiate is own trading card deals, things like that,
    it would be a huge hassell,
    plus, do we even really know if he wanted this deal to happen?.

          from what I've heard, he doesn't NEED the unions approval anyway. Their ruling is pretty much just a suggestion. He just doesn't want to go against them. He's the one who went to them and asked if the deal was ok. They said no. He said that he totally agreed with their ruling.

          He would never quit the union. Guys who aren't in it, are shunned almost.

                Baseball has one of the strongest unions you could ever get. Which is why their will never be NFL like parity.

                      i read an article today where he was going to pay hicks 15 million to make the deal and lop of 4mil a year for every year on his contract.
