Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Paul Molitor has been added to Ron Gardenhire's staff in MInnesota. The way the job is described it sounds like they're grooming him to be the next manager there as he's going to be in charge of base running, bunting and infield instruction. He'll also have a say in in-game strategy.
I wish him luck as I know he used to work for the Twinkies as their batting coach for a season or two.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Dodgers fired bench coach Trey Hillman. Don't see anything about Mattingly.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Yep, that's what I heard. Apparently Mattingly has said he wants his entire coaching staff back but as you said Hillman was fired and Mattingly wasn't even involved in the process. If he's still the manager come spring training than it's World Series or bust for him.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I'm on the fence on Mattingly returning but I don't see another candidate who is better then Mattingly at this point, I'd like to see what rumors pop up.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Dodgers bring in a Manager familiar with the Latin style of play to help groom Puig and Guerrero.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
its going to get even uglier, Mattingly fired the first shot and the Ownership fired back in firing Hillman. I guess the ball is in Mattingly's court now.

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Don Mattingly is not a very good manager. Dodgers would be throwing away another season if he's brought back. I just don't see them winning it all with him in charge there.
I hear Bobby Valentine is available if the Dodgers decide to go with someone other than Mattingly.Comment

They might as well hire Dusty Baker after all, he has Dodger ties what with being a former player for the team.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

The rumor back then from what I remember was he was the one blamed for getting Steve Howe hooked on the nose candy.
and I was a huge Baker fan, when I was a kid, he gave me one of my first autographs when I was 7, still wish I had that autograph.
maybe the Dodgers will get desperate and pry Scioscia away from the HalosComment

All I can say is that I hope this new TV deal brings us some new broadcasters. Tom McCarthy has got to go!Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Yup. From what I read today, a deal could happen within the next 30 days or so. The Phillies currently receive $35 million annually from Comcast Sportsnet. This new TV deal could get them potentially $135-185 million annually. Fox Sports may be involved too.

Unfortunately McCarthy is actually in employment by the team not the network so likely no new announcers. I miss HarryPSN: KMRBlue1027
