Well, after a few days things look more clear now. The following deals have already gone down:

            Rafael Palmeiro - Orioles
            Vladimir Guerrero - Angels
            Rich Aurillia - Mariners

The following players are still available:

Greg Maddux - Cubs, Giants, Cardinals
Ivan Rodriguez - Cubs, Dodgers, Orioles, Tigers
            Ugueth Urbina - Twins, Cubs
            Sidney Ponson - Orioles
            Minnesota Vikings
            Minnesota Twins
            Chicago Bulls
            UNC Tar Heels

Re: Remaining Free Agents - Where will they go?

Just read Gammons' article on ESPN.com and it said that the Orioles are in the running for Maddux. It would be interesting if Baltimore signed Maddux, Ponson, and maybe even Pudge. That would make things in the AL East look a lot more interesting. Too bad with all these possible additions the O's could still finish 4th in the division, most likely 3rd if these deals go through.

I've heard the Marlins are interested in Maddux.

                              From Sportsline.com today:

"The Miami Herald reported Marlins GM Larry Beinfest said the team had no intentions at present of signing a high-profile player to supplement the roster -- despite reports everyone from Vladimir Guerrero to Greg Maddux might be ripe for the picking. The Herald also said free-agent outfielder Raul Mondesi told a Puerto Rican newspaper he was close to a deal with the Marlins, but a league source said there was no truth to that statement. Earlier, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, citing industry sources, reported the Marlins were examining a number of options from Guerrero to Maddux to Jason Kendall."
