MLB Free Game of the Day in 2013??

Anybody knows if MLB.TV will provide us with that service again this year as they did the last years?

that's great news, I like to watch different teams sometimes. was kind of hoping for some free spring training games as well but seems like there is nothing.

Well a lot of them aren't broadcasted. The regular season is a little different

Seems to me *all* spring games (that are telecast) should be free. What better way to get people interested in the season and hype your service?

Looks like they started with free ST games now. Today it's Braves vs. Blue Jays and tomorrow Reds vs. Rangers. Might have been going for a few days already but I just saw it now.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm holding off to buy it until 4/1 but I get to watch the Jays any way.

That's lost money. They sell monthly subscriptions. You give March free and you lose out on all that money for those that don't buy the whole year, or maybe those that buy just the month and then decide to buy the whole thing.

I'd be surprised if they actually give people some Jays games for free this year, since I'd expect the free games to usually involve teams that nobody outside of the cities playing would watch(Royals vs Astros, Twins vs Mariners and so on)

That wouldn't be a great way to get people to buy your product. If only fans that already get the game on TV would watch it, what's the point? They are using it to try to increase sales. I remember them showing a little bit of everyone last year. If you only showed poor teams, you aren't going to sway someone not interested and teams with a smaller fanbase aren't going to increase sales either. Best to spread it around and increase your chances. If anything, you'd want to show teams like New York, Boston, and LA who have "fans" everywhere and maybe you can get some of those casuals to buy the package and get more interested.
