          Neither is correct.

Which hitter had the highest number of bases on balls in a single season without leading his league in that category?

I need the player, the number of walks and the year.

I'm pretty sure this is Brian Giles circa the early 2000's when Bonds was walking 200+ times. I remember Giles had an insane walk total...I have to give a year group instead of specific year so I'll say 2002-2004.

It's Bobby Abrea the year he was traded to the Yanks. Can't lead the league if you didn't play in the league the whole year.

He had 124 walks in 2006.

I don't have a question, so whoever can have it. I just knew this one as soon as I saw it.

I don't think that last part is right....Willie McGee, for example, won the 1990 NL batting title despite playing the last 6 weeks in the AL with Oakland.

Because he still qualified on plate appearances in the NL. You have to have 503. He had 542 in the NL that season. Walks, however, is a cumulative stat. Barry Bonds is probably the only guy that could get traded and still manage to lead the league I'd imagine.

YAY um, can I ask a question? I learned an amazing trivia question that I don't think has been asked and would love to ask it. LMK and i'll ask it.

How is it not Abreu? In 2006, he had 124. Ortiz was the AL leader with 119. Barry Bonds led the NL with 115. Abreu only had 91 in the NL and 32 in the AL. Looks exactly like having the most base on balls in a season without being a league leader.
