Isn't his name on that $275 million contract of Rodriguez's? Seems like he's part of the problem. Teams don't want to pay someone who may not be as good as they were at that age again. I am surprised he hasn't gotten something, but we all know Boras. Unless it has 8 figures on it, he probably won't let Lohse touch it with a 10-foot pole.

Well, he got a 3 year/$33 million contract for his old pitcher, so I'm sure he's pretty happy. Though based on Boras' track record, he probably thinks Lohse is worth $17mil/year for 5-7 years. Boras' valuation of his clients is one of the major factors that baseball salaries are so ridiculous. Nobody deserves that much money to entertain us.Comment

To be fair, that is his job. I would want my agent to get the most money for me whenever I go for free agency. Lohse wants to be paid, and he's hired Boras to get him there. The whole 'screwing the children' thing though is why people don't like the man.

Not at all. Boras seem to believe that the current system is corupt because it doesn't treat all free agents the same. Well, neither did the last system that he benefited from. Teams are willing to bite more on guys in there 20's and pass on guys in there mid to late 30's. Why when the damage was self inflicted? Lets take Lohse for example. Once Boston, Texas, Detroit, Washington, as well as both teams in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles passed and they did from day one. He should have focused on getting Lohse signed as quickly as possible. Instead, he waited and waited until most dollars where already allocated. The number he got is what most teams were offering to begin with.
Michael Bourn did the same thing. Once Washington traded for Span, and the Braves moved quck on Upton, he was left scrambling for a gig.
