    Here we go again....

The Rangers and Red Sox are meeting this weekend to discuss the AROD and Manny trade once again. Will this ever die?

It's not going to happen. They should just let this die. I wish Selig would have some balls and tell these teams to stop this crap. They had lots of chances to get this deal done and they blew it. Money is still going to be an issue that hasn't changed and i'm sure the Players union will still be against A-Rod taking less money in Beantown.

This "crap" is music to his ears. He's one of the guys who WANTS this trade to go down. He's pushing really hard.

                      Re: Here we go again....

Both teams are denying anything is going on so we can't fault the clubs for "pulling this crap" again because this is all on the media. The media can hype and speculate all they want but we won't here anything on this deal from either club unless a deal is consumated.

I think there is still a good chance of the deal happening, but not right now. I think the Red Sox realise they can't lock up Nomar for a price they are willing to offer for him and are looking at a replacement. I think if this deal will happen it will happen after the '04 season and the Red Sox will look to add a FA outfielder to replace Manny. There is a chance the Sox would rather just do it now than later and get this thing done before the start of the season as well. I highly doubt this deal would take place though during the regular season. Texas may decide they want to move ARod by the July 31st deadline but this trade would shake up the chemistry of a Boston team expected to be in contention for the AL East. You just can't a change a team that much half way through the season unless both Manny and Nomar are underachieving or Manny pulls one of his sick stints or something. Or, if the Red Sox are out of contention entirely, they could decide to do it during the season but I don't see that happening.

Bottom line though, I'll believe it when I see it and as a Boston sports fan The Patriots will be receiving most of my attention for the next two weeks, not A-Rod.

i found it funny that Dan Patrick read a comment from Scott Boras (A-Rod's) agent blaming ESPN for "jummping the gun" on the report.. now if there was no truth to what the report was said, why did Boras make that statement?
