I think he'll be better than 70 strikeouts, I see him as averaging somewhere between 6-7 K's per 9 innings. I think he has the tools to be a good number 5 man and I think he could potentially be better than a 5th starter. His psyche though is fragile, he needs to get off to a good start on the road before he pitches in Fenway because that crowd probably hasn't forgotten his one finger salute.

Actually, as a Starter fr the D-backs, he got 7 ks only once in those few starts, and averaged about 4 ks a game.

yeah he is a good 5th starter, he just cant start against a team like the yankees who know how to hit him, i think that once teams start to get the 2nd or 3rd look at him in a game they start to hit him.

They weren't pitching him a lot of innings though were they? I thought they were trying to work him into the starter's role slowly and he rarely went more than 6 innings a game. Still, 4 K's a game times 30 starts is 120K's. The test for him will be how he handles left handed batters this year. Last year he could not get one out and you know opposing managers are going to exploit that with their starting lineups.

And I agree, second and third time through the lineup is when Kim comes undone in a big way. I wouldn't be shocked to see him have a good first half and a horrible second half.
