Re: who has the better bullpen??

I think the two pens are even, with the exception that the Yankees have two deent lefties in there pen, and the Sox have one and one unproven, Foulke had more saves than Rivera last year, but Rivera has been a better Closer over the years, but, at times did not look like the Rivera we all know, teams were scoring off him, and he was allowing more baserunners, we'll see if he is back to normal this season, the Bullpens should look like:

    Boston
    RHP Bronson Arroyo
    LHP Alan Embree
    RHP Keith Foulke
    LHP Mark Malaska
    RHP Ramiro Mendoza
    RHP Mike Timlin
    RHP Scott Williamson

    New York
    RHP Tom Gordon
    LHP Felix Heredia
    RHP Steve Karsay
    RHP Paul Quantrill
    RHP Mariano Rivera
    LHP Gabe White

Both these Bullpens match up well, it's going to be a great year to watch this rivalry.

Between those two, I'd take the Sox. Williamson setting up Foulke sounds pretty good to me.

But I'd put the Cubs pen against any of them.

The Cubs Bullpen is also pretty good, so we'll give them honorable mention.

    Cubs pen
    RHP Joe Borowski
    RHP Kyle Farnsworth
    RHP Gary Glover
    RHP LaTroy Hawkins
    LHP Kent Mercker
    LHP Mike Remlinger

Rivera is still money when it counts, i.e. the playoffs. Foulke is good, don't get me wrong, but his out pitch is a changeup. He hasn't consistently been a dominant closer- in fact, before last year, he lost his job with the White Sox. So until he does it for a few years in a row, we'll see. In the AL anyways, there's Rivera then everyone else.
