        This!

Also I'm in the camp that he was just going to talk to him but Greinke said something that ticked him off.

I can't feel sorry for either one of them. They each will get what they deserve.

Grienke could have easily diffused the situation by admitting fault as soon as the pitch struck Quentin, but you saw no such gesture...

I doubt Quentin wants to get hit so the notion he should've moved or whatever is just ridiculous. Someone who has been plaqued by injuries, ones which were mostly due to playing the field or not involving a HBP does not willingly want to get hit.

Quentin wants to establish his territory at the plate, in doing so there's the risk of the guy w/ the ball doing the same thing and certainly the guy w/ the ball has more control of the situation too.

Grienke is not at all a victim and his emotional/mental state is well documented, but perhaps not as well-known since he was in KC all those years.

I found the entire thing entertaining as hell and would love to see it happen again and would especially love to see it happen to the Dodgers again Maybe Kershaw can retaliate next? One can only hope.

The 60 HBP he's received the past 3 years says otherwise. I doubt he's provoked the opposing pitcher into hitting him 20 times a year since 2010. He stands over the plate. Sure, a batter can establish his territory, but if you establish it where he does usually, you are going to get hit.

His willingness to stand over the plate and the HBPs is just collateral damage of that style of play, does not mean he WANTS to be hit per say, just means he doesn't want to be busted inside which then allows for the pitcher to have control of the outside too.

And he was hit on Tuesday by Belisario. But still, at that point in time, there was no reason for Quentin to rush the mound. It was just stupid. He needs to understand situation, and put his own little vendettas aside.

Then he should expect to get hit. If I'm pitching, I'm throwing that ball anywhere near the strike zone I want - batter be damned where he's standing.

Just like when I'm at the plate. If I stand that close, I'm expecting to get busted inside and high. Crap happens, people get hit. Its the game, you dont have to act like he was attacking your manhood over one clearly unintentional HBP.

If I'm Quentin I'm going to do the same thing. When grienke has hit him more then anyone else and he was already hit once in the series and had to miss time. Yea I would be pissed too. Quentin wouldn't have broke his collarbone if the catcher wouldn't have tackled him.

I imagine Greinke broke the collarbone on the initial impact. Had nothing to do with the catcher. The hbp by Bellisario was obviously unintentional as well. Quentin gets hit more than anyone else in the league. And if Greinke was planning on retaliating, he probably would've done it in either of Quentin's first two ab's.

And Quentin didn't take steps towards the mound "just to talk". That's asinine. He even said when a reporter asked if he wouldn't have charged if Greinke didn't say anything, and all he said is "there's a chance." Which tells me Greinke could've been a church mouse out there and Quentin was probably coming out there.

Why would Greinke hit him there? It doesn't even make sense. And I couldn't read Greinke's lips, but he didn't say more than about two words out there.

I think given their history and that he was hit already in the series just caused the pot to boil over so to speak. Had there been no history between them he wouldn't have charged...

Again...if he's been hit so many time like a previous poster said then he's likely taking that base, but since it was Greinke who did it and they have a history and Greinke has purposely came at him before then that is different, no?

Their history is that Greinke hit him once in 08 and once in 09 by the way.

I blame that bum Adrian Gonzalez. This marks the second time in two months a pitcher on his team was on the losing end of a bench clearing brawl. First team Canada gave Alfredo Aceves the beats, and now Zack Greinke has a broken collarbone. He needs to do a better job at protecting his pitchers.

I'm fine with Carlos Quentin at all for charging the mound. What I'm having a hard time understanding is why so many are up in arms over it. It's been apart of the game longer than any of us have been on this earth. Sometimes players get hurt. Get over it.

Hey what do you know? There's actually someone with some fire on this team.

Thanks for hitting our only legitimate baseball player Greinke, who exactly are they going to go after now? Alonso?
