Are Tiger fans pumped about this signing? It seems their whole franchise was on hold because of bad contracts given to aging players until this off-season freed up some cash... now they sign Pudge, Vina, Rondell White.. hardly guys with their best seasons ahead of thems.

Wait till the last years of the Pudge deal when there paying a 37 year old catcher 10 million per year....i just dont think this is a smart move.

I think Pudge will be worth it when he's 37. Everyone is underestimating him. Not to mention that they only paid him that much because it's the Tigers, when you've got a notoriously bad franchise and you want a good player to join it, you have to cough up the cash. Why do you think Pudge wanted multi-year? so he'll have job security and he'll still be getting paid in 4 years. Its a good deal for the Tigers, and once again you two underestimate the Tigers this year. Considering the junk they had last year, they have made major strides and updates in their team.

                        Pudge
                        Rondell White (underrated)
Fernando Vina (at least good defensively)
                        Carlos Guillen (does it all)
                        Jason Johnson (pretty damn good)

and now you look at this and you say it's a bad thing? Give me a break. Tigers could easily place 4th in their division next year, if not third. Anyone who denies this, is IMO a Fool.

Not according to Satan (i mean Scott Boras, i get those two confused), he says "both sides are still negotiating" and "there is no verbal agreement" he also went on to say that there will be no further comments until monday,
we all know this is basically a done deal, yet he keeps trying to string the Tigers along, just sign the contract already.
