Aaron Boone possibly out for '04 season

They just reported on Sportscenter that Yankees third basebman Aaron Boone injured his knee while playing basketball and may have torn his achilles. There is a possibility he will miss the entire season. If I were a Yankees fan, I wouldn't be too worried. Boone is terrible and I'm sure Steinbrenner will find a way to replace him if need be.

Damn't, what is he doing playing basketball? He should be learning to hit!

Seriously, this is dissapointing, I had high expectations for Boone to rebound from last year and have a good season. Boy, Claussen better turn out to be a bust.

    Who plays 3rd now?

Terrible? I fail to see how Boone is Terrible. For an infielder with some power he does a decent job. He's nothing magnificent, true, but you'd have to be completely nuts to say he was "Terrible". He was definitely better than Ventura. He was nothing if not Consistant last year, at least in hitting. He consistently hit the ball day by day, week by week, throughout the entire season, with no Slumps that I could see.

It's sad to see that just as his career was picking up, he might suffer an injury. It's also sad to see that the Yanks hero is practically shunned by Yanks fans in many ways. He saved your freakin' life in game 7 and you're not even going to give him the benefit of the doubt? Kaaaryst!

Don't you mean ACL (anterior cruciate ligament)? The Achilles' tendon is in the ankle.

Anyway, whichever the tear, it's a long road back.
