I typed achilles because I heard someone say it on TV while I was typing. I actually changed it to ACL on the proofread page or whatever its called but it didn't go through for some reason. But yes, its his ACL.

Boone's OBP for NY was .302 and his OPS was .720. For a corner position, thats pretty bad. Boone was the beneficiary of All American Ballpark and once removed he stunk. And have you ever just watched him hit? He just takes wild cuts, he's awful. He hit a hanging knucklball out of Yankee stadium for the win, anybody that got that pitch could have done the same. And that was a postseason in which he hit a measly .170. Joe Crede had better numbers than Boone and Ventura had a better OBP and OPS than him as well.

Even though Boone stunk it up in the postseason he did have a pretty nice year for the reds and yanks. 90 something RBIs really isn't that bad. I'd definitely take those numbers in 04. If he does miss the whole year though, I wouldn't mind seeing Almonte step in and play some 3rd...anyone but Drew Henson, whose batting average probably wouldn't crack his QB rating.

My reaction and the reaction of every Yankee ***** in the world: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

*ahem* WTF was he doing playing basketball!!?? Seriously these guys don't think about themselves too much when they do these things do they? This kinda does put the Yanks in a bind as everyone knows the Yanks will be looking for a 3B but honestly there aren't that many great 3B around and the really good ones are locked up long term with their teams.

The Yanks don't exactly have much to give in trade.

Oh well that's not my headache however i'm sure Bonnie boy is getting blasted all over NYC radio.

Well Rotoworld is saying that two people the Yanks may look at to fill third base are Corey Koskie and Edgardo Alfonso.

It's feared that Boone has a torn ACL. If he's going to miss the season, the Yankees will have to look outside the organization for a third baseman. Their first call might be to the Twins to check into Corey Koskie's availability. If he can't be pried away, then maybe they'll go after Edgardo Alfonzo. It probably wouldn't take much to get him since he has a substantial contract and the Giants love Pedro Feliz. If te Giants could get out from under Alfonzo's salary, they'd probably make a late run at Greg Maddux.
