The latest is that we signed Tyler Houston. He played for the Phillies last year. I have no clue who he is." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

He was a utility player for Philly - came up a catcher w/ the Braves back in 96 (bounced around the league since then) .. last year he was one of the players that was outspoken about Larry Bowa & wanted him ousted..Comment

Re: Aaron Boone possibly out for \'04 season
Houston is a nice little role player- not an everyday guy by any stretch. If they do bring in a 'full-time' player, they have Houston's lefty bat off the bench, which will help. He's always been a solid hitter in his career, but not sure about his defense.Comment

i just read on newsday (the loc. paper here on LI) that there might be interest in bringing back Ventura.. they do mention that the signing of Houston was a "secret" deal
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
The Dodgers may not be willing to deal Ventura, seeing as how he could end up the regular 1B in L.A., but then again, Maybe if the Yankees trade cash ($430,000,000) for Ventura, the Dodgers might take the deal.Comment
